District Deputy Grand Master’s Report:
R W Bro Rob Campbell, DDGM Cumberland reported that the Grand Master was very pleased with the cooperation demonstrated by Laurie, Wimburn and Widow’s Son.
He noted that traveling to other lodges is often difficult in this geographically large district. He encouraged lodges to take advantage of the teleconference service available through Grand Lodge. It is even possible to have committee meetings and to share documents with this service.
R W Bro Campbell encouraged individual masons to “adopt a lodge”. That is, choose another lodge and attend all their meeting for a year. Maybe even take a fellow brother with you. This should generate more interest in traveling since the members of the lodge you visit will probably return the visit to your lodge.
Keep in mind the services of the Grand Lecturer. Use him as a source for Masonic Education. Masonic Education should be a part of every lodge meeting.
Elections are coming up in each of the lodges. Keep in mind that officers should be elected on merit, not just because they are “in line”.
The District Meeting is scheduled for February 7, 2013, 7:30 pm at Acacia Lodge in Amherst.
Moved by V W Bro Bill Merriam, seconded by R W Bro Rob Campbell that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
