Our First Interprovincial Day
Westmoreland Lodge #44
Port Elgin, NB
September 27, 2014
After months of planning, spear headed by the GM of NB, MW Bro. Stephen Allen, VW Bro. Buddy Trenholm and their committee and lots of masonic support, the First Interprovincial Day finally became a reality on September 27th. As Westmoreland Lodge #44 is centrally located and easy for the three provinces to send members to, it was chosen to be the first to host this event.
Not knowing how many brothers would make it to the event, everyone was very pleased to see that just over 100 brethren from the three jurisdictions made it to Port Elgin.
The Distinguished East included MWBro. George Grant PGM NS, MWBro. Allison Coles PGM PEI, MWBro. Paul Montgomery GM PEI, MWBro. Paul Frank GM NS, MWBro. Stephen Allen GM NB, VWBro. McKay, W Bro. Rod Allen, RWBro. Steeves, RWBro. Peter Ponsford, RWBro. Donald Leary, W Bro. Andrew MacDonald, and RWBro. Clyde Townes.
The lodge was opened by the Westmoreland Lodge #44 brothers lead by their WM, W Bro. Rod Allen. The brothers from PEI provided the Masonic Education and Alexandra Lodge #87 from Amherst with WM, W Bro. Andrew MacDonald in the East closing our first Interprovincial Lodge.

The master of Westmoreland Lodge #44, W Bro. Rod Allen, holds a commemorative picture which they had made to be passed on to the Opening Lodge of the coming year. The plaque reads "Interprovincial Day GLNB, GLNS, GLPEI 4th Saturday September".
A sincere thank-you to the organizers and all brothers who made this event a reality as well as to the many brethren who came from afar. Masonic fellowship is certainly alive and well in our three provinces!
Next year it will be Alexandra Lodge #87 in Amherst that will be the hosting lodge. PEI will close next year's meeting and NB will provide the Masonic Education. The organizers of this year's event hope that they will see the members that were there on Saturday come back again and bring a friend or two!
Hope we will see you there!
During the closing MW Bro. Stephen Allen recited a short poem which is recorded below. It was a fitting end to a great afternoon of masonic fellowship which, of course, was followed by a hearty meal in the hall downstairs.
Please check out the gallery below to see some of the afternoon's happenings.
Many thanks to RW Bro. Bill Millet, DDGM of District 7 in New Brunswick, for many of our pictures.
