Closing of Acadia Lodge #13
On Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 Acadia Lodge #13 in Pugwash held its last lodge meeting. It has put its charter into darkness. It was a very sad occasion but the brothers where happy to see so many brothers from the district and from Grand Lodge who were with them for their last meeting.
Above the SGW, RW Bro. John Cody, is escorted into the lodge.
At the end of the evening the brothers of the lodge pose for a final picture.
The brothers, Bro. Kevin Houston ( SW) and Bro. Anthony Houston (SD) had the honour of closing the great lights. It was their (5 greats) grandfather who approached the Grand Lodge of England to grant Pugwash a charter back in 1850. It was later in 1869 that the lodge joined the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia and became Acadia Lodge #13. There has been a mason in their family continuously since 1850!

Caravan of Masons Visit Nova Scotia
On the afternoon of Sunday, Aug.9 the CDMA and Alexandra Lodge co-hosted the visit of a group of RV'ers from the USA to our region. The get together was held at the Amherst Temple with a Meet and Greet at 4pm and a delicious Pot Luck Supper at 5pm.
This year the caravan, made up of masons and their wives, was some 10 caravans strong from all over the USA lead by their seasoned leader Bro. John Lehmann of Lake City, Florida.
Brothers from several of the district lodges were present for the get together which was lead by our district's chairman, RW Bro. Alan Linkletter.
We were also pleased to have two brothers from outside the district with us, W Bro. Gerald Settle, WM of John Albro Lodge #122 and W Bro. Chris Lucas, IPM of Bedford Lodge #104.
Below Bro. Lehmann thanks the brothers for hosting them and presents RW Bro. Linkletter with Pins for our GM and other lodge masters involved.

CDMA Cheque Presentation to CEIP
July 3rd was the date for CEIP's Family Picnic Day this year held at Beacon Street Park in Amherst. Again this year we were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day for the picnic and the cheque presentation that our district came to make. Ten brothers from the district made the trip to Amherst to be there for the event.
This year we (in conjunction with the Masonic Foundation of NS) were very pleased to make a total donation of $9,800 to CEIP!
This cheque was made up of the CDMA's contribution of $7,800 plus $1000 from Wimburn Lodge and $1000 from Widow's Son Lodge.
As a district made up of community minded brethren we are very proud to have been able to sponsor CEIP over the past few years. To date this donation brings our total donation to approximately $76,850! Well done masons of Cumberland County!
Below you see the brothers just after presenting the cheque to Erin Perry, Executive Director of CEIP. Our DDGM, RW Bro. Robert Yorke, made the presentation for CDMA.
This year some of the children served by CEIP made a large Thank-you card. Here they are giving us the card, which was received by the DDGM.
